Club de Golf La Cañada in Guadiaro, San Roque, opened in 1982 and describes itself as the first public golf course on the Costa del Sol. The 18-hole, par-71 course combines nine holes by Robert Trent Jones Sr. with nine by Dave Thomas, with views of the Guadiaro river and Gibraltar. The club has a practice range with more than 40 bays, short-game areas, a pro shop, electric buggy hire, a golf school with PGA professionals and a restaurant with a panoramic terrace. Green fees can be booked online.
