Two courses with different personalities
The Old Course has a mature setting and a reputation for walking golf. The New Course climbs into higher ground, where elevation changes place more emphasis on shot selection. Our take: play both if you enjoy comparing how terrain changes your decisions. Source Benahavís Tourism — Atalaya course guide (opening dates omitted due to conflicting records)↗
A club with established roots
The Spanish Golf Federation records Atalaya’s foundation in 1968 and identifies the designers of both layouts. The club’s history is a useful part of its identity, but the important booking detail is the course name: Old and New are separate choices. Source Spanish Golf Federation — Atalaya club record↗
Before you book
Which course should I book?
Choose the layout explicitly when enquiring. Ask the golf team which course best suits your group’s experience and preferred way of getting around.
What should I confirm with the club?
Confirm handicap requirements, equipment hire, buggy arrangements and any maintenance affecting your date. Do not assume that a price or inclusion for one course applies to the other.
